1: How Much Thread (Embroidery) Do You Want?
- 50% Embroidery:
Half of the patch has thread and the rest shows the background. Best for simple designs or just a name. - 75% Embroidery:
Most of the patch is covered with thread. Great for medium designs with some details. - 100% Embroidery:
The whole patch is full of thread. Best for big, colorful, or fancy designs!
2: What Type of Thread Do You Want?
- Standard Thread:
Regular strong thread in many colors. Looks nice and lasts long. - Glow in the Dark Thread:
This thread glows when it’s dark! Cool for kids or fun patches. - Gold Thread:
Shiny gold thread that makes your patch look fancy. - Silver Thread:
Shiny silver thread that looks modern and neat.
4: Patch Edge Style (Borders)
- Merrowed Border:A thick stitched edge, good for round or square shapes.
- Die Cut Border:A border that follows the shape of your patch, even if it’s a fun or weird shape.
- Hot Cut Border:
A smooth, clean edge that stops it from fraying. Good for detailed shapes
5: What Fabric is the Patch Made On?
- Standard Twill: A strong and smooth fabric. Comes in many colors.
- Flannelette: A soft and fuzzy fabric. Feels nice and looks cozy.
6: What Size Do You Need?
- In Inches:
From 2 inches to 12 inches — small for hats or big for jackets! - In Centimeters:
From 5.08 cm to 30.48 cm.
Backing Options
Iron-On backing
With heat-activated glue, iron-on patches stick easily using an iron or heat press. Best for clothing and accessories, they offer a durable hold but may weaken with frequent washing.
Velcro (Hook & Loop) Backing
Velcro-backed patches can be attached and removed easily. Perfect for uniforms and tactical gear, they offer flexibility and reusability without damaging fabric.
Peel & Stick (Self-Adhesive) Backing
Like a sticker, this backing is quick to apply but temporary. Ideal for events, promotions, and short-term use, though not suitable for washing or long-term wear.
Magnetic Backing
Magnetic patches attach to metal surfaces without glue or sewing. Best for name tags and decorative uses, they are reusable and leave no damage on fabrics.
Pin Backing
These patches come with a pin or clasp for easy attachment and removal. Perfect for name tags, badges, and collectible patches, but not meant for permanent wear.
Sew-On Backing
Sew-on patches need stitching for a strong, permanent hold. Ideal for uniforms and heavy fabrics, they withstand frequent washing and rough use without peeling or damage.
